This week's harvesting from garden included anise hyssop, wormwood, stinging nettle, holy basil, sweet basil, horehound, and yarrow. My foraging yielded goldenrod, fireweed, comfrey, clearweed, asters, purple loosestrife, chicory, pleurisy root, and dock root. My challenge for tomorrow is digging up teasel root and Japanese knotweed root. Both are a project, and I am taking my husband along for extra muscle. I stopped by to look at my rose hips and there is a nice crop which will be ready soon! Ditto the crabapples. I don't do anything medicinal with them, but they make excellent jelly. We have dozens of varieties of goldenrod here and the three types I got yesterday are flat-topped, tall, and Canada goldenrod. As summer winds down I will have time to produce more salves, tinctures, and can start on soaps!
