The Weekend's Harvest!
Share
This past weekend I harvested comfrey leaf and root, dandelion the whole plant, the first of the season's cleavers, purple deadnettle, ground ivy, speedwell, plantain, wintercress, and the first of my crop of stinging nettle.
My organic garden is coming along. The bloodroot looks well this year after a rocky start. It grows all over the place here, but I'd prefer not to wild harvest it because it is restricted. The stoneroot and black cohosh are coming on strong. Horehound should be harvestable this year along with marshmallow. The speedwell and yarrow are positively thriving. My culinary, but still medicinal plants are sage, oregano, rosemary, and thyme.
I'm heading down to The Plantsman Nursery near Ithaca NY to buy a big bunch of native medicinal plants to add to the garden.
Here's to a wonderful season ahead!
